“Spend” Your Time Wisely!

Spread the love

Every moment we make choices as to how to spend our time.  I love that word spend.  It tells me that I’m getting something in return for it.  Nobody spends money for nothing – at least I hope.  So, what am I getting in return for my time spent?

The Great Equalizer of Opportunity

The great thing about time is it doesn’t matter how much money you have, where you live or who your parents are.  You can spend your time to get something of great value or something destructive.  It doesn’t matter where you are on the socioeconomic spectrum.  We all have time to spend.

Personally, I like to spend time reading things that improve my life, my mindset, the way I value myself and others, or provide new skills.  I love to read other blogs and books that inspire me to greater heights.  It’s become almost an addiction for me.  And it’s free with a library card or you can do it from home with an Internet connection.

Without the resources I have sought, I may never have discovered the roads to early retirement, financial independence and the many routes people can take to get there, regardless of where you start.  This has redefined the heights that are possible, which has redefined how I see life.  This added hope has given me a whole new level of excitement  and it cost me nothing.

Calculating Return

The first question to ask is, how do you spend your time?  How much do you spend on your own personal growth, relationship growth, financial growth, etc.?  If the answer is none, you can probably do the math and figure out how much you will get in return.  Every bit of time we spend on positive growth has a positive return, which I believe compounds over time.

With all the information at our fingertips today, we can all become virtual experts in how to properly treat our bodies and minds, our wallets and ultimately each other.  There is no limit to what we can personally achieve, and we can do the vast majority of it with a resource we have all been given in equal amounts.

Addendum

I woke up at 7am on a Sunday and edited this blog I wrote a while back and posted it.  I have no idea if anyone will read it or even care.  But, it made me more productive and probably a better writer than before, so I’m getting a good return no matter what.  Hopefully you do too.
